A disc check valve is a type of non-return valve (also called a check valve) that allows fluid (liquid or gas) to flow in one direction only and prevents backflow. It's named for its disc-shaped internal mechanism that moves to open or close the valve based on flow direction and pressure.
How It Works
When fluid flows in the correct (forward) direction, the pressure pushes the disc away from the seat, allowing flow through the valve.
When flow stops or reverses, the disc returns to its seat (by gravity, spring, or back pressure), blocking reverse flow.
